Become our next Chief Financial Officer

As a full member of the Executive Leadership Team, the CFO will help shape organisational strategy, support collective decision-making, and model the culture, behaviours and cross-functional collaboration required to deliver Leonard Cheshire’s mission.

Welcome

Dear Candidate,

Thank you for your interest in becoming our next Chief Financial Officer at a pivotal moment for our charity. This is a rare opportunity to join an organisation with a proud history of supporting disabled people, rooted in our founder’s vision in 1948. Promoting independence, choice and control for disabled people remains at the heart of everything we do.

Today, expectations are evolving rapidly, alongside the demands on publicly funded care. To remain relevant and deliver the very best support, we must continue to adapt and look ahead. We have an ambitious five-year strategy, backed by our Board, and have already started reshaping how we operate: investing in our services, technology and infrastructure to build a stronger future.

Following a challenging period, we are now on a more secure financial footing, with the capacity to invest in modernisation and seize new opportunities. At the same time, we operate in a complex financial environment. Maintaining resilience, while driving innovation and quality, is essential.

As a key member of the Executive Leadership Team, you will play a central role in delivering our strategy: strengthening performance, managing risk, and building trusted relationships with stakeholders.

This is a leadership role with organisation-wide influence. We are looking for a strategic, collaborative leader who can help drive change at pace. In return, you will have the opportunity to make a lasting difference to disabled people’s lives and shape the future of care and support.

If this resonates with you, I would be delighted to hear from you, and wish you every success with your application.
